CGS Academia is divided into 2 age groups: Junior Academia which caters for students in grades 7 and 8 and Senior Academia which caters for students in grades 9 and 10.
Junior Academia covers a multitude of subject areas, both in the Humanities and Social Sciences and in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). The lectures offer an introduction to scientific subjects outside the school curriculum, which will be explored further in subsequent years of study.
In the Senior Academia programme, students are assigned to either the Academia “STEM” or Academia “Humanities and Social Sciences” programmes depending on their performances, but also on their talents and their preferences. The lectures delivered at this level explore the subjects more thoroughly and include visits by distinguished speakers from academia, research institutions, etc.
