In the PYP students are involved in trans-disciplinary Units of Inquiry. The class becomes a centre of structured inquiry through which students acquire skills and new knowledge. These units form part of the school’s Programme of Inquiry and are designed very carefully to evolve as pupils go through the various levels.
Each unit of inquiry:
- is an important and challenging student experience
- involves students in a variety of activities/tasks
- requires students to be involved in action related to the unit
- links different subject areas whenever appropriate
Programme of Inquiry
The Programme of Inquiry is a matrix of all the Units of Inquiry that each year / class completes each year. The Units of Inquiry are designed on the basis of the collaboration of all teachers. The Programme of Inquiry is adapted according to the students’ needs and is exhibited at the school for all students and members of the faculty.
