Concurrently, it aims at comprehensively supporting the collaboration between students\u2019 families and their teachers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0391<\/strong><strong>1. Counselling Support Services at various class levels:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary Prevention Programmes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Experiential activities are created to encourage social and emotional development at all levels of the school, in line with the developmental goals of each age group.<\/p>\n<p>What follows are indicative goals for each year:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nursery<\/strong> <strong>school<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pre-Kindergarten: Raising the children&#8217;s awareness of basic social skills, such as the expression of their needs \/ desires, aiming at their smooth induction.<\/li>\n<li>Kindergarten: Learning social skills.<\/li>\n<li>Pre-Nursery: Sensitization to recognition, expression and the management of key\u00a0\u00a0 emotions.<\/li>\n<li>Nursery: Cultivating a healthy self-image. Understanding concepts: uniqueness &#8211; diversity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Primary school:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Year 1: Experiential games designed for the students to become better acquainted while, at the same time, enhancing team spirit and co-operation.<br \/>\n\u2022 Year 2: Becoming acquainted with our emotions: recognition, expression and management of emotions.<br \/>\n\u2022 Year 3: Levels of self-image &#8211; self-esteem: how I perceive myself \u2013 the image which important people in my life have of me.<br \/>\n\u2022 Year 4: Training in effective conflict management.<br \/>\n\u2022 Year 5: School bullying &#8211; information and helpful ways of dealing with it.<br \/>\n\u2022 Year 6: Self-image &#8211; body image &#8211; sex education.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Middle school:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Year 7: Safe use of the internet: Cyberbullying &#8211; Grooming. Uncontrolled Internet usage &#8211; Internet addiction.<\/li>\n<li>Year 8: Identity and Peer Relationships.<\/li>\n<li>Year 9: Career Guidance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>High School:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A\u2019 Lyceum : Career Guidance meetings. Optional sitting of the Career Gate Test (\u03a3\u0395\u03a0).<br \/>\n\u2022 B\u2019 Lyceum : Consolidation of organizational skills and good management of study time.<br \/>\n\u2022 C\u2019 Lyceum : Effective management of stress during examinations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Classroom observation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Systematic observations of classroom dynamics are carried out, aimed at facilitating teaching and meeting the students\u2019 psychosocial and learning needs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Detection of Learning Strengths and Weaknesses<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>a) Nursery school<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>Speech Therapy \/ Occupational Therapy:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>At Nursery school level, preventive speech therapy and occupational therapy sessions are offered to all our students by specialized personnel.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>b) Primary school<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>Checking learning:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On the completion of Year 2 of the Primary school, a preventive check of learning is carried out on all our students, in collaboration with teachers. It aims to meet the needs of students who require assistance with their learning.<\/li>\n<li>In Year 3 of the Primary school, the school counsellors take care to identify pupils who may have special educational needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>A2. The school Counselling Support Services focus on the student<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students are referred to the Counselling Support Services by their teachers, parents or the school management. The Counselling Support Services work with the students\u2019 families, aiming at the most appropriate way of supporting the students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Detection of learning difficulties<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the event that there are indications of any learning difficulties, the School Counselling Support Services will conduct a comprehensive learning check and, if necessary, external assessment is recommended.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Investigating Emotional Needs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If a psychological profile is required, the School Counselling Support Services does its utmost to detect the emotional needs of the student and recommends appropriate measures.
