{"id":40176,"date":"2022-02-15T15:09:37","date_gmt":"2022-02-15T13:09:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cgs.gr\/?p=40176"},"modified":"2022-02-21T17:41:27","modified_gmt":"2022-02-21T15:41:27","slug":"cgs-arts-contest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cgs.gr\/en\/cgs-arts-contest\/","title":{"rendered":"CGS ARTS CONTEST Music \u2013 Theatre \u2013 Visual Arts &#8211; Dance"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row padding_top=&#8221;10&#8243; padding_bottom=&#8221;20&#8243;][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;40180&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong>Music \u2013 Theatre \u2013 Visual Arts &#8211; Dance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The CGS ARTS CONTEST is organised by the <strong>Primary School<\/strong> <strong>ARTS<\/strong> department and its professional teachers, <strong>within the framework of sustainability and the cultivation<\/strong> of 21st century skills with the support of the Primary School administration and <strong>Ms. Zoi Geitona<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the CGS ARTS CONTEST is to showcase students with special talents in the arts by rewarding and supporting their artistic development.<\/p>\n<p>The competition will be held from May 1 to May 31, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The winners will be announced on June 5, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The jury which will evaluate the contestants will be comprise CGS ARTS teachers, while renowned local artists, acting as external collaborators, will be invited to contribute during the final stage of the competition.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>CATEGORIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The CGS ARTS CONTEST falls under the following categories:<\/p>\n<p>\u0391. Music<br \/>\nB. Theatre<br \/>\nC. Visual arts<br \/>\nD. Dance<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>A. MUSIC <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Contestants must submit two pieces (or songs) of different characters. They are not allowed to play scores. In the field of Music there will be a total of three winners. The evaluation for the three winners will be based on the average score given by the members of the jury. Contestants will compete either as soloists, with their instructor\u2019s participation or with a total of 2 more artists in only one of the following disciplines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vocals<\/li>\n<li>Piano<\/li>\n<li>Stringed instruments (violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar, harp)<\/li>\n<li>Wind instruments (made of wood or brass)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Evaluation criteria<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Technical level<\/li>\n<li>Level of difficulty of the selected programme<\/li>\n<li>Expression<\/li>\n<li>Artistic capabilities<\/li>\n<li>Performed by heart<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong> B. THEATRE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The contestants will perform a poem of their choice, which they will have learned by heart and will present it to the jury. Contestants will then be given a text and asked to improvise (prima vista). There will be 3 winners in the category. The evaluation for the 3 winners will be based on the average score given by the members of the jury.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Acting, reciting a poem<\/li>\n<li>Dramatic improvisation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Evaluation criteria<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Expressiveness<\/li>\n<li>Stage presence<\/li>\n<li>Improvisation<\/li>\n<li>Ability to react to stage conditions<\/li>\n<li>Prose interpretation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>C. VISUAL ARTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Contestants will be invited to paint a theme to be given on the day of the competition. There will be 3 winners in the category. The evaluation of the 3 winners will be based on the average score given by the members of the jury.<\/p>\n<p>Duration of the competition: up to 3 hours<\/p>\n<p>Materials \/ Techniques: Participants will draw on white paper measuring 35 \u00d7 50. All painting materials can be used (pastels, watercolors, wood paint, tempera, charcoal, pencil, markers) as well as a combination of techniques. Collage with ready-made materials is not allowed.<\/p>\n<p>Evaluation criteria<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understanding the subject<\/li>\n<li>Efficient use of materials and technique<\/li>\n<li>Completion of the project within a given time<\/li>\n<li>Creativity \/ Imagination<\/li>\n<li>Artistic ability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>D. DANCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Contestants must present a choreography lasting a maximum of 3 minutes. There will be 3 winners in the category. The evaluation of the 3 winners will be based on the average score given by the members of the jury. During their presentation, candidates may be accompanied by one or two dancers (who will be out of competition), in only one of the following types of dance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Modern dance<\/li>\n<li>Contemporary dance<\/li>\n<li>Hip Hop<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>* Acrobatic movements are allowed, as long as they take up most of the time.<\/p>\n<p>Evaluation criteria<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Choreography<\/li>\n<li>Technique &#8211; Style<\/li>\n<li>Performance-Stage Presence<\/li>\n<li>Music<\/li>\n<li>Costumes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>PROGRAMME<\/strong>: Observing all health protocols, the competition will be held live on the school premises. If, for health reasons, it is not possible to hold the competition at the given time, an alternative date will be set.<\/p>\n<p><strong>REGISTRATION<\/strong>: You can register by sending the attached participation form to the Secretariat of your level. The submission of the participation form is binding for participation in the competition, unless there are health reasons.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RIGHTS<\/strong>: The participant&#8217;s parent and \/ or guardian must consent to photography, videotaping, and audiovisual material produced during the competition (for use by CGS).<\/p>\n<p><strong>PERFORMANCE EVALUATION<\/strong>: The maximum overall score for a candidate&#8217;s performance is 100 points. The score consists of the sum of the points (maximum 20) received for each of the five evaluation criteria.
