Thucydides on the inevitability of war.\u201d delivered by keynote speaker, Professor Mathew Sears, (Department of Classics, University of New Brunswick), a historian of ancient Greece and Rome, specializing in military monuments, commemoration, war and society. Other distinguished speakers included Thanos Veremis, Professor Emeritus of Political History at the University of Athens and Maria Gavouneli, Director General of ELIAMEP (Hellenic Foundation for European &amp; Foreign Policy)<\/p>\n<p>Speakers and audience members discussed conflict resolution strategies practiced by ancient Greeks and how this might serve as a reference in understanding contemporary global crises.<\/p>\n<p>Expanding students\u2019 horizons by encouraging them to engage with real-world experts are experiences that ignite a passion for learning that knows no bounds.
