{"id":7500,"date":"2016-11-15T14:57:33","date_gmt":"2016-11-15T12:57:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cgs.gr\/?p=7500&#038;lang=en"},"modified":"2017-02-21T12:37:46","modified_gmt":"2017-02-21T10:37:46","slug":"extra-curricular-activities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cgs.gr\/en\/extra-curricular-activities\/","title":{"rendered":"Extra-curricular Activities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our extra-curricular activities are innovative, fun and are offered through a variety of approaches.\u00a0 They combine alternative teaching methods and philosophies with the promotion of our overall aims of Knowledge-Skills-Attitudes-Values-Behaviour. \u00a0Although they are not curriculum-driven, they have been inspired by the teachers.<\/p>\n<p>The aims of extra-curricular activities are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To supplement, strengthen and promote the goals of each grade level\u2019s curriculum<\/li>\n<li>To help students cultivate special skills<\/li>\n<li>To serve as a source of enjoyment following a rigorous academic day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There is a strong element of experiential learning involved in extra-curricular activities since it requires mental and physical participation. It could be said that these activities bring back the \u201cgood old days\u201d when children played in neighbourhoods and now it can be done in a well-organised, safe environment.\u00a0 Whether they participate as an individual or are part of a team, each child has chosen to do so freely enjoying the activity to its fullest.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1975, Extra-curricular Activities provide students with a wide range of choices.\u00a0 The programme\u2019s cornerstone is the careful and strict selection of appropriate teaching and coaching staff.\u00a0 Parents can see their child\u2019s gradual progress by attending the \u201cOpen Classes Day\u201d and all other, individual special events.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our extra-curricular activities are innovative, fun and are offered through a variety of approaches.\u00a0 They combine alternative teaching methods and philosophies with the promotion of our overall aims of Knowledge-Skills-Attitudes-Values-Behaviour. \u00a0Although they are not curriculum-driven, they have been inspired by the teachers.
