The end of the first year of the IB DP, CGS students get a lot of things: their final grades, a series of workshops to help them prepare for university applications and… a trip to universities abroad to explore their options for next year.
This June marked the 14th annual University Preparation Workshops where students spend two days learning about entry requirements, admission processes, essay-writing, preparing a CV, interviews and how to find universities and programmes in countries like Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, the UK, Italy, Austria, Denmark, and the USA…the workshops kick off the application season coming up in IB DP Year 2 and give students a real head start on their university applications.
The very same group of IB DP Year 1 students are now in the Netherlands and then off to Germany for campus visits, information sessions and a chance to meet university students for some insight into student life, making for an encompassing first experience in the university application process.
