CGS distinction at the Moraitis School Debate Cup 2026
2nd place and qualification to the semifinals
It is with great pleasure that we announce that our school participated in the Moraitis School Debate Cup, which took place on February 6 and 7. Students from the Middle School, High School, and the IBDP program took part in the competition, as well as — for the first time — students from Grade 6, who represented our school community with distinction.
In total, eight students from the Middle School and High School competed in debate and two students participated in impromptu speaking, while four Grade 6 students also competed in debate. All participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, well-supported argumentation, and remarkable rhetorical skill.
A special distinction was achieved by the team of Dimitris Hargitt and Orfeas Mavros, who placed 2nd overall and advanced to the semi-finals of the competition. In addition, Dimitris Hargitt earned individual recognition, ranking 8th in the overall Best Speaker standings.
Warm congratulations to all our students for their participation, dedication, and exemplary conduct, as well as to the teachers who supported them. We wish them even greater success in the future!
