STEM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Mathematics) is an educational policy which was first introduced in the US during the previous decade. Since then, it has gained popularity and is currently a global trend in the field of education.
In September 2014, CGS established the first STEM Academy in a Greek School which aims at:
– promoting inquiry based learning and a “learn by doing” approach
– the horizontal use of technology (tablets, specialised software, science simulations, 3D printer, etc.)
– the connection of STEM subjects to student’s everyday life
-the enhancement and interconnection of STEM subjects
The emphasis on experiments during science lessons and activities such as coding, robotics, design και 3D printing, are common practices in the school’s daily life at all levels from Kindergarten to Senior High School and the IB DP.
