CGS in THIMUN!

Our IB Diploma Year 2 student Maria Patouna will serve as a Deputy President in the “Special Conference on Securing and Advancing Democracy” of The Hague

International Model UN conference.  This committee is one of the biggest committees of THIMUN 2020 and the one addressing the main theme of this year’s conference. Debates on “political inclusion of marginalised groups” and “the role of civil society in advancing democracy” will be entertained and I will have the opportunity to become an expert on the question of “encouraging youth to participate in local governance and decision making.”

Our IB Diploma Year 2 student Vassilis Michalis  was selected to serve in the Conference Secretariat (THIMUN) as the President of the General Assembly. Vassilis is the first Greek to be selected for the position. He will be responsible for all 6 committees of the General Assembly, the largest body of the conference, consisting of approximately 1500 people in total. He will also be responsible for the opening and closing of the conference which he will present .
