The CAS Programme of CGS proudly launches Cultural Bridges, a dynamic international partnership with the CAS Programme of the International School of Siena (Italy). Both schools are members of the INSPIRE Education Group, making this collaboration a meaningful opportunity to strengthen connections within our global learning community.
This student-led initiative brings together two school communities united by the IB values of international-mindedness, creativity, service, and communication.
Stage 1: Meeting Our Communities
The project began with an online event where both schools were introduced by the Heads of School and the IB Diploma Programme Coordinators.
Students then presented the values, vision, and facilities of their schools, building the foundation for collaboration, understanding, and shared experiences.
Stage 2: My City — Past and Present
CGS students introduced their partners to Athens, presenting the city’s rich historical legacy alongside its vibrant contemporary life. The presentation highlighted important cultural landmarks, traditions, and modern aspects of Athenian identity, showing how past and present coexist in everyday life. Their Siena counterparts also provided a great presentation of their city’s rich culture.
Coming Next in Cultural Bridges
Stage 3: My City and Its Artists
Students will explore the artists who define the cultural character of their cities, from historical creators to contemporary voices in art, music, literature, architecture, and design. This stage will highlight how art reflects identity, history, and social change.
Stage 4: My City and Its Scientists
The final stage will focus on scientists, inventors, and innovators connected to each city, past and present. Students will present discoveries and ideas that demonstrate how scientific thinking continues to influence society and the future.
Through collaboration, creativity, and cultural exchange, Cultural Bridges shows how CAS empowers students to connect across cultures, learn from one another, and build lasting global bridges within the INSPIRE community.
