CGS 14th Model United Nations (MUN) Conference on Cyber Governance: Towards e-democracy

The 14th CGS Model United Nations Conference on the theme of Cyber Governance: Towards e-democracy took place on the CGS campus from 6th to 8th December 2019. Over the course of the three days, 550 14 to 18 year-old students from 22 private and public schools in Greece and abroad actively participated in public discourse, debate and discussions on international issues.

Within the framework of the conference, CGS had the pleasure and honour to host two renowned speakers in the field of Digital Governace: Dr. Athanasios Staveris-Polykalas, Special Adviser to the Minister, the Ministry of Digital Governance, and Dr. Yannis Charalabidis, Associate Professor in the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering of the University of Aegean.

At the Closing Ceremony, delegates, advisors and visitors were entertained by Mr. Nick Siropoulos, member of the Greek National Opera House. Cyberno, an NGO that provides education to teachers, parents and children in the development of children’s digital skills, gave a presentation.

Since 2012, the CGS MUN Conference has been recognized by the THIMUN Foundation as a THIMUN – affiliated conference, receiving the maximum honour a school can obtain from the official European MUN organization.
